This Return Policy outlines the terms and conditions for returns, cancellations, and refunds for products and services provided by Boutiquebeauty. Due to the custom and handcrafted nature of our work, certain restrictions apply.
Custom Work Cancellation
Before Production Begins
If you wish to cancel a custom order before production begins, you may do so with written notice. Cancellation fees may apply based on:
- Work already completed (design, planning, material ordering)
- Materials ordered specifically for your project that cannot be returned
- Time invested in consultation and design development
Any deposits paid will be applied to cancellation fees. Remaining amounts, if any, will be refunded within 30 business days.
After Production Begins
Once production has begun, custom orders cannot be cancelled. This includes:
- Orders where materials have been cut or processed
- Orders where printing or embossing has commenced
- Orders in any stage of active production
If you wish to modify an order after production begins, we will assess the feasibility and any additional costs. Modifications may result in extended timelines and additional fees.
Standard Products
For standard, non-custom products that are in stock:
- Returns must be requested within 14 days of receipt
- Items must be unused and in original condition
- Items must be returned in original packaging when possible
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
Defective or Damaged Items
If you receive an item that is defective or damaged:
- Contact us within 7 days of receipt with photos and a description
- We will arrange for return shipping at our expense
- Upon verification, we will replace the item or provide a full refund
We carefully inspect all items before shipment. If damage occurs during shipping, please retain all packaging materials and contact us immediately.
Quality Variations
Handcrafted items may exhibit minor variations that are inherent to manual production processes. These variations do not constitute defects and are not grounds for return. Such variations may include:
- Minor variations in ink coverage or color
- Subtle differences in embossing depth
- Slight variations in paper texture or finish
- Normal variation in hand-bound bindings
Change of Mind
For custom work, change of mind after approval and production commencement is not grounds for return or refund. We encourage thorough review of proofs and specifications before approval.
For standard products returned due to change of mind, items must meet the conditions outlined in the Standard Products section above. Return shipping and any restocking fees are the customer's responsibility.
Refund Process
When a return or cancellation is approved:
- Refunds will be processed within 30 business days
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
- You will receive confirmation when the refund is processed
Please note that refund processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
Studio Visits and Appointments
Studio visit appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to rescheduling fees.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances. We will provide as much advance notice as possible in such cases.
Return Shipping
For approved returns of standard products:
- Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the item is defective or damaged
- We recommend using trackable shipping methods
- We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping
Please contact us before returning items to receive return instructions and authorization.
Exceptions
The following items are not eligible for return:
- Custom work that has been approved and is in production or completed
- Items that have been personalized or customized beyond standard options
- Items damaged due to misuse or improper handling after receipt
- Digital products or downloadable content

If you are not satisfied with a resolution regarding a return or refund, please contact us to discuss the matter. We are committed to fair resolution of any concerns.
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges for custom work. If you wish to change a custom order, please contact us to discuss options. Changes to custom orders after production begins may not be possible or may incur additional fees.
For standard products, exchanges may be available subject to availability and the conditions outlined in the Standard Products section above.
Damaged in Shipping
If an item arrives damaged due to shipping:
- Contact us within 48 hours of receipt
- Provide photographs showing the damage and packaging
- Retain all packaging materials for inspection
- We will arrange for replacement or full refund, including return shipping costs
We package all items carefully to minimize the risk of damage during transit. However, we cannot control the handling by shipping carriers.
Refund Timeline
Once a return is approved and we receive the returned item:
- We will inspect the returned item within 5 business days of receipt
- Refunds will be processed within 10 business days after inspection approval
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed
- Refunds may take 5-10 additional business days to appear in your account, depending on your financial institution
Restocking Fees
Standard products returned due to change of mind may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15% of the purchase price. This fee helps offset the costs of processing returns, inspecting items, and returning them to inventory.
No restocking fee applies to items returned due to defects, damage, or errors on our part.

We reserve the right to modify this Return Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified policy.
